An exciting opportunity for an experienced Continuous Improvement Engineer to join a leading manufacturing client based in the NG15 area on a Permanent basis.Due to growth within the business an APQP Engineer is required to join an established business to assist and support the Engineering and NPI lead.Duties -
  • Responsible for implementation of lean methodology across a leading Tier 1 manufacturing facility.
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvement, waste removal and cost reduction.
  • Working to continuously improve processes both on the production floor by collaboration with multiple functions such as planning, operations, engineering and quality.
  • Single point of contact for APQP activities on specific NPI/Transfer of Work Activities
  • Identify and communicate specific requirements to Project/Engineering Teams
  • Production of formal reports as required.
Qualifications/Skills-
  • Degree level or equivalent Minimum HND qualification in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Process mapping and identifying areas for improvement
  • Planning and facilitating workshops, improving business process and building team members capability
  • Practical experience of APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) and PPAP (Production Part Approval Process)
  • Practical experience in use of problem-solving tools such as 8D reporting, Kaizen, Six Sigma methodology.
  • Strong Microsoft Office Skills (Excel, Project, PowerPoint)
  • Kaizen methodology, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt would be advantageous
  • Change Management/Lean Manufacturing
