Currently, our client is seeking talented and dedicated individuals to join one of their newest ventures in support of a 24/7/365 crisis helpline that will change the accessibility for anyone trying to cope with mental or emotional challenges which could be life threatening.   

Position Overview: The AVP, crisis helpline Clinical Standards and Practices drives the development, execution, and evaluation of crisis helpline's clinical practices to improve crisis helpline's quality of care. They will be responsible for elevating public visibility of our client's commitment to and expertise in crisis helpline efforts to reduce distress and suicidality for all persons contacting crisis helpline. They will provide oversight of Clinical Best Practices and Clinical Technologies, Training, and Research and Evaluation departments.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Builds organizational capabilities at crisis helpline, driving efficiencies and harmonizing core programs and services (60%)
  • Leads the following departments: Clinical Best Practices, Clinical Technologies, Training, and Research and Evaluation
  • Sets the vision for and develops an implementation plan to deliver technical assistance and coaching to crisis centers around clinical best practices
  • Leads a Research & Evaluation department in assessing efficacy, applying lessons learned, and improving and expanding emerging best practices
  • Builds field consensus to establish and disseminate crisis helpline best practices (including industry standards & trainings) by assuring engagement with external SMEs, advisory committees and key stakeholders in crisis care nationally and internationally.  
  • Assures collaboration with our client QI and Equity and Belonging Departments to align optimal clinical practices with crisis call center metrics to promote equitable care quality for all persons contacting crisis helpline
  • Promotes a community of practice regarding Suicide Prevention among crisis centers by identifying appropriate forums and channels through which communications and discussions can foster
  • Works with our client's Communications team to assure public visibility of crisis helpline/our client's commitment to high standards of clinical care 
  • Continues to build on our client's legacy of thought leadership and expertise in mental wellbeing  
  • Creates a cohesive team with a culture of cross-departmental collaboration (30%)
  • Cultivates and builds relationships across different teams at multiple senior levels, internally and externally
  • Works with direct reports on performance management activities such as performance reviews and development discussions
  • Oversees all projects and assignments within Clinical Standards and Practices division, reporting out on strengths, wins, and areas of opportunity
  • Other activities (10%)
  • Engages in professional development activities (e.g., leadership and DEIB trainings)
  • Dedicates time to mentoring employees throughout Our client (may be outside crisis helpline)

 

Qualifications:

  • Skilled at building and maintaining relationships across different teams at multiple senior levels, internally and externally
  • Deep experience in developing and executing strategic plans at department level and below
  • Effectively allocates resources and prioritizes projects within budget to get things done
  • Outstanding communications skills (presentations to key stakeholders, public forums, etc.)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills (e.g., problem definition & structuring)
  • Excellent leadership skills in building, developing, and managing a strong team
  • Ability to delegate to achieve right level of involvement on day-to-day decisions
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • Cross-functional program management experience at senior leadership level
  • 5+ years of experience in a clinical leadership role in mental health and/or suicide prevention program (crisis service preferred)
  • Master's degree required; Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Healthcare, Public Health, Policy, or Social Sciences (e.g., MPH, MPA, MSW or other health-related fields) preferred
  • Interest in mental health/suicide prevention strongly preferred

 

Salary: $140K - $150K
