Are you a passionate behaviour worker looking for a new challenge this academic year? We are currently working with multiple schools in Wakefield who are searching for a behaviour support worker to start immediately for long term placements and temp-permanent positions. The schools cater for pupils with social, emotional mental health needs who can demonstrate some challenging behaviour. As a behaviour support worker, you must be able to deal with challenging behaviour, demonstrate a level of resilience whilst at work and be able to build meaningful relationships with both young learners and staff. Throughout this role you will need to be able to demonstrate effective behaviour management techniques, build rapport and trust with young SEN learners to de-escalate incidents and promote learner growth, and create a safe educational environment. These positions require you to be experienced in supporting pupils and young adults with challenging behaviours. Depending on the role and your experiences, you could be working across a variety of educational settings such as mainstream, SEN, PRU's, as well as settings such as residential sites. As a behaviour support worker, you are responsible to work alongside teachers, managers, and other classroom staff in order to support the learners and young adults in a constructive and controlled learning environment, both inside the classroom and around the setting.
