This is a superb opportunity to join a high-performing corporate broking unit, where you'll be dealing with some of the largest and most complex Motor Fleet risks in the country. Here, you will work in close conjunction with the Major Fleets Director, helping to manage a portfolio of fleet-orientated risks pertaining to corporate (i.e. FTSE350) clients. In addition, you will personally inherit a sizeable portfolio of Major Fleet business relating to some of the region's largest privately-owned and publicly-listed companies, with individual clients paying fees of £50K - £150K per annum.
The role sits within this global broker's Major Fleets 'Centre of Excellence', a flourishing Division that is rapidly-expanding through the acquisition of quality accounts, including much coveted blue-chip Haulage, Distribution and Logistics clients, amongst others. As one would expect from clients paying six-figure fees, you will be dealing with sophisticated insurance buyers, and often those with in-house insurance teams.
As a sector specialist, you will maintain a detailed understanding of the market, including latest industry trends and changes to legislation, and how these can affect your clients' businesses and the risks that they face. With the support of a dedicated team of Major Fleet Account Handlers, you will develop your clients' insurance programmes that suitably reflect their appetite for carrying risk and, where gaps in cover exist, you'll develop innovative solutions that mitigate these in line with their desire for self-insurance. You will liaise with specialists from other areas of the group (such as Marine and Financial Lines), to ensure a joined-up offering is achieved, and negotiate with insurers to obtain your clients the most comprehensive cover at competitive premiums. You will be an advocate for best practice, and educate your clients around risk management, claims and driver culture etc in order to deliver cost savings and reduce the effect of any losses. As a company ambassador, you will attend various trade events, act as a subject matter expert to colleagues and, on occasion, produce 'thought leadership' pieces about Major Fleets.
It is essential that you are professional and have the credibility to build an authentic rapport and secure buy-in from clients at all levels - from the shop-floor through to the board room. It is also essential that you are meticulous with a keen eye for detail, and able to put together comprehensive rapports in a timely, accurate and compliant fashion. It is anticipated you will have made solid progress towards professional qualifications under the Chartered Insurance Institute, although we welcome applications from outstanding candidates who have chosen not to pursue these.
We are keen to hear from Account Executives (from broking houses of all sizes), as well as Corporate Brokers, Claims Executives and insurance company personnel, who are technically-gifted and have a good knowledge of the Motor Fleet sector.
You will benefit from a generous basic salary (completely negotiable for exceptional candidates, but anticipated to be to circa £75K), plus lucrative bonus, car allowance and a flexible-benefits package that can be tweaked to suit your own personal circumstances.
The Major Fleets Division operates a mature working environment, where insurance professionals, recognised as being at the top of their game, are entrusted to work as they see fit, with only occasional attendance at the office being necessary. As such, this role will appeal to experienced candidates from all over the North of England and the Midlands.Aston Charles - a personalised service from industry expertsGeneral Insurance and Financial Services RecruitmentFor more jobs like this, or for more information on how we may be able to help you in your search for a new job, please visit our website
