Director of Development / Fundraising

Otterbein seeks a part time Director of Development for its Franklin, Indiana community. This part-time position reports to the VP of Development, and oversees the planning, management, and implementation of all fundraising activities.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we supply PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) to keep you and our residents safe. Additionally, we have implemented stronger infection control and testing procedures in all Otterbein locations.

• Share Otterbein mission with prospects and donors to encourage philanthropic support
• Identify, cultivate, build and maintain enduring relationships with individuals, local businesses, corporations, charitable foundations and civic organizations
• Generate ideas for appeals and opportunities to integrate them into Otterbein's overall Development plan
• Plan and oversee donor recognition events
• Plan, oversee and/or lead seminars on planned giving for residents and their invited guests
• Create and deliver presentations for individuals, corporations, and foundations to educate them on the depth and breadth Otterbein
• Write annual case statement for each location
• Write articles for quarterly newsletter
• Develop and lead fundraising committees as needed

Skills

• Complete knowledge and understanding of fundraising fundamentals
• Ability to work in multiple sites
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organization and planning skills
• Ability to work independently; self-starter
• Ability to manage/lead a team of volunteers
• Proficient in Raiser's Edge or other fundraising software
