We are looking for an Infrastructure Support Engineer to join a leading tech company. This company have a platform that powers some of the biggest brands globally. As an Infrastructure Support Engineer, you'll be delivering world-class service to major clients, supporting applications, platforms and Azure infrastructure.

  • Up to £45k + 33% shift allowance
  • Night Shift required

What you'll be doing

  • Managing and supporting the infrastructure and microservices within a containerised environment

  • Responding to Alerts and fixing problematic infrastructure

  • Attend troubleshooting calls with suppliers/integration partners

  • Maintenance of source-controlled environments

  • Designing and maintaining monitoring, measuring and alerting systems

  • Progressing and resolving incidents within SLA

  • Collaborating with others to troubleshoot and resolve escalated production issues

  • Proactively identifying potential issues, using monitoring solutions, before they become issues, and acting to resolve

  • Identifying, and documenting changes, enabling us to resolve such issues in the future

  • Working with engineering teams to implement support for pre-existing and new

    products, providing engineering teams with assistance in identifying and adopting

    operational concerns

  • Training and supporting of new team members

Some of the requirements:
  • Experience delivering a support service to external customers ideally in a digital or online environment
  • The ability to learn and adapt quickly to new technology

  • Enthusiastic about problem solving with tenacity to see fixes through to resolution

  • Experience with Cloud providers such as Microsoft Azure

  • Experience with Azure APIs would be desirable

  • Experience with Cloud provisioning tools such as Terraform

  • Strong understanding of Linux and to a lesser degree Windows Server Operating Systems

  • Working knowledge of Kubernetes would be desirable

  • Configuration management of Linux and Windows systems using tools such as Puppet, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, etc.

  • Experience in developing Puppet code, Puppet Modules and Hiera Version Control Systems (Git, GitHub) is desirable

  • Understanding of NoSQL - Redis, CosmosDB etc - Experience is desirable

  • Understanding of SQL - mySQL, MSSQL etc - Experience is desirable

  • Knowledge around monitoring tools such as Elastalert, Grafana and Prometheus/AlertManager

  • Experience using scripting & programming languages to automate frequently executed activities (Bash, PowerShell, Python) is desirable

  • ITIL certification would be desirable but it is not essential
