Purpose statement:
The Manager of Commercial Analytics (CA) is responsible for leading a team of analysts focused on creating and maintaining analytical models and data visualizations that deliver a controlled single source of truth delivering value-add insights to be used in VM/DM, forecasting, Bowlers & KPI's, and should be informative for strategic planning, problem solving, and drive continuous improvement for Commercial IDT Globally. This role will engage stakeholders within IDT's broad commercial organization to define critical priorities and accelerate information-to-action. The broad commercial organization includes Business Units, Marketing, Customer Service and Sales.
Additionally, this team supports the collection and evaluation of competitor market data - product, pricing, marketing, quality, and performance - to drive decision making and strategy. Finally, this position will have other analysts report directly to them and play a key role in the commercial analytics process globally at IDT commercial
Responsibilities:
Performs sales analysis and build out forecast models based on product type/application, customer segment and geographic region
Builds and maintains datasets, reports, dashboards, bowlers and KPI's for the broad commercial organizations
Tracks and trends competitive market share for select markets and products
Assists with pricing optimization efforts
Develops and delivers accurate, timely, and actionable recommendations based on informal questions and requests
Works strategically with management and directors to determine forecasting, targets, and commissions
Establishes and maintains close working relationships with key cross-functional leadership stakeholders, including Product Managers, Marketing, Finance, Customer service and Operations
Manages CA team which includes daily management, hiring, training & development (P4G/D4G).
Delivers data analytics solutions to promote the strategic use of operational data to make informed decisions
Translates complex results or algorithms into simple conclusions that will enable decision-making
Supports continuous improvements efforts and kaizens with actionable data, gemba presence and sustainment activities
Manages execution of short-term and long-term analytics projects that align with IDT's strategic priorities
Directs the centralized intake and triage of requests for CA projects
Designs and leads process and technology improvements to optimize efficiency and performance of the team
Creates and maintains a solid understanding of key advancements and emerging trends in the analytics industry
Education:
Bachelor's degree in a business, computer science or life science related discipline required
3+ years of experience managing a cross functional team is required
3+ years of experience in data analysis and visualization required
Ability to solve problems using statistical modeling, machine learning, or data mining concepts required
Deep understanding of SQL, data modeling, relational databases, and data warehouse principles
Strong visualization skills and experience with BI (e.g. SSRS, Power BI, or Tableau) and ETL tools
Expertise in a variety of statistical techniques (e.g. factor analysis, text/data mining, decision trees, discriminate analysis, logistic regression, clustering, etc.) preferred
