Merchandise Manager, Salary: c£55-60k, 37.5hrs per week Monday Friday (flexible around work times), Based in Glossop with flexibility around working from home. Due to continued growth and success an exciting opportunity for a Merchandise Manager has arisen within an award-winning and market leading supplier of rugs to the retail sector. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Merchandise Manager / Supply Chain Manager to further their career in a fast moving, growing business. Candidates will need to have experience of managing a team within a supply chain manager / merchandising manager function, preferably within a wholesale / retail related sector, though any sector background will be considered. The role: You will provide leadership, coaching and direction; manage all aspects of stock control, supplier management, ordering and replenishment. You will drive improved performance and customer experience through exceptional stock management. Key aspects of the Merchandising Manager role Manage a small but established and high functioning team including data analysts, Export and Transport Bookers and administrative support and including a team in an offshore office, monitoring performance and setting KPI s. Managing the team to ensure the right stock is in the right place, at the right time. Supporting the team to help prioritise workload to ensure goals are achieved. Working with the buying teams to support and facilitate new product development whilst maintaining range planning techniques. Take a proactive and lead role in the recommendation and decision making with regard to product launch and life cycle stages. Manage purchases and stock levels, in line with stock targets. Guidance & Input around Forecasting process and category management. Availability analysis: Create and track range performance, whilst monitoring stock levels and ensuring availability for customers Supplier management: working with the buying and technical teams to ensure our suppliers are consistently meeting our expectations and growing with us. Develop and maintain relationships with Freight forwarders. Have a sound understanding of freight logistics, shipment paperwork and customs. Candidate requirements: Experience in a Merchandise Manager, Supply Chain Manager or similar role and of managing a team. Preferably have knowledge and / or experience of the wholesale / retail sector, but not essential, as we are also keen to consider candidates from other sectors Experience of working for a business of a similar size - £30-50m turnover.
