Engineering Project Controller Work within the integrated project teams to be responsible for the project planning and controls within the defence industry. The Project Controller will be responsible for: Development and generation of the schedule with input from Project Managers, IPT lead and Work Package Managers Maintenance of integrated project plans and work package interdependencies Analysis and control of costs and schedule Integrated Project Plan scheduling and resource levelling Ensuring the quality and integrity of the project plans in terms of time, cost and resources JOB FUNCTIONS: Compile suites of reports to ensure project manager/IPT lead has up to date and accurate information Integrated Project Plan scheduling and resource levelling Creation and maintenance of baselines Controlled release of project plans for execution Consolidation of project costs Verify the maintenance and accuracy of project plans, ensuring that they reflect the project objectives, are updated in a timely manner and communicated at all relevant levels Track weekly/monthly project performance plans to ensure project data accuracy. Gather data in standard formats from other business areas to support project/planning analysis. Manage and communicate issues to senior management Professional planning and control, providing expertise to the business area with the ability to challenge cost and schedule performance Effective resource planning, determining the project requirements and planning accordingly. Proactive management and resolution of resourcing issues and conflicts with stakeholders Understanding Risk and Opportunity management and maintenance The implementation of best practice tools and processes to drive planning improvements Outstanding customer service, delivering on agreed performance targets REQUIREMENTS: Proactive and motivated team players who can work collaboratively both within the function and the wider Integrated Project team, acting as an advocate and role model for good planning process Confident with industry standard planning and scheduling techniques utilising MS Project Demonstrable experience in successfully planning projects of varying levels of complexity and in different stages of the Project Lifecycle. Ability to constructively challenge the project performance and data with the IPT to ensure the project plans and schedules reflect reality and mitigate risk to the business Strong communication skills both written and oral, with advanced experienced in Microsoft Excel and Power Point in support of this requirement. Analytical and logical nature with a strong desire for continuous improvement Able to recognise, develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships at all levels EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THE ROLE: 5 years practical experience within a Project Control environment Experience in an Engineering development environment. Experience of controlling Projects from conception, through implementation to closure Ability to manage and record budgets/spend and provide forecast information Sound customer care skills
