Reporting directly to the Digital Communications Manager, the Digital Communications Coordinator will support our client and a suicide prevention program administered by our client, with their digital properties and online marketing and communications strategies and campaigns. The coordinator will help disseminate public education messaging and tools in support of mental health and suicide prevention in online spaces and support the implementation of digital strategies to increase public awareness of our client and the crisis helpline programs and resources. This position will also focus on creating website content and digital ads, as well as optimizing SEO. In addition, the coordinator will assist in the creation of branded materials, and represent the crisis helpline and our client at conferences and events, as needed.

 

Job Responsibilities: The Digital Communications Coordinator is responsible for creating website content and digital ads for our client  and its programs. The coordinator will work closely with the social media and Communications Coordinator to build these ads on different social media platforms. The coordinator will also help create optimized content for our websites and improve SEO. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support our client's and the crisis helpline's digital properties and online marketing/ communications strategies and campaigns
  • Help disseminate public education messaging and tools in support of mental health and suicide prevention in online spaces
  • Support the implementation of digital strategies to increase public awareness of our client's and the crisis helpline's programs and resources
  • Create website content and digital ads on a variety of social media platforms
  • Optimize SEO/Google AdWords
  • Attend conferences and events, as needed
  • Support the Communications team and carry out Communications tasks as needed

Required Skills:

  • Experience conceptualizing and creating website content, with a focus on addressing sensitive, complex and timely subject matter
  • Experience with digital platforms, including website CMS and e-newsletters
  • Experience with HTML/CSS a plus
  • Knowledge of digital advertising on a variety of social media platforms and digital marketing best practices (Google AdWords, SEO, SEM)
  • Help support strategies for raising online revenue
  • Track metrics, create reports, and recommend digital communications strategies based on goals
  • Support Communications activities with partners, vendors, and other programs and departments
  • Attend conferences and events as necessary

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, relevant experience in marketing, journalism, media studies, communications, or related field
  • 1-3 years of professional work experience in a marketing and communications department of a complex organization; experience in a nonprofit mental health, health, or human services organization a plus
  • 1-3 years of experience creating digital ads on various social media platforms
  • Bilingual Spanish and English a bonus
  • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others
  • Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail
  • Interest in mental health and suicide prevention
  • Strong understanding of digital communities and online trends
  • Flexibility and occasional availability on evenings and weekends for organizational needs
  • Infrequent travel may be required

Salary $55k-65k
