Senior Geophysicist The purpose of the job An exciting opportunity for a Senior Geophysicist to join a world-class geophysical survey team based at our waterfront office in Portchester on the UK s south coast. You will have the opportunity to work on varied global projects, including some of the largest offshore renewable projects in the world. Helping to shape and contribute to a greener energy future. As the Senior Geophysicist, you will be responsible for processing geophysical data on a wide variety of projects. You will lead, coach and mentor other geophysicists; promoting quality and ensuring that Fugro deliver industry-leading data to our clients. This is an excellent opportunity for you to gain exposure to a variety of projects and data types, working in a range of markets, including renewables, UXO and pipeline inspection. Here s what a typical day would be like: Processing, interpreting, and reporting geophysical data, including sub-bottom profiler, side scan sonar, and magnetometer. Leading processing teams to deliver high data quality at all phases throughout the project life cycle, including acquisition, processing, interpretation, reporting, and deliverables. Leading and assisting with vessel mobilizations and demobilizations where required. Undertaking offshore survey operations, including offshore processing, assisting with back-deck operations, undertaking coverage checks, and creating infill line plans. Who we re looking for: Essential A Bachelor s degree or higher, or equivalent qualification, in Geophysics or a closely related subject. Extensive experience as a Geophysicist or similar role. A strong knowledge and experience of marine geophysical survey techniques, in relation to both data acquisition and processing. Good verbal and written English language skills. An ability to communicate clearly with colleagues and clients. Confidence in working under pressure to tight deadlines. A high attention to detail, quality, and safety. Able to work offshore for periods of up to 4 weeks. Experience in Oasis Montaj, SonarWiz, RadExPro, Kingdom Suite. Desirable Prior management and leadership experience. Experience in leading, coaching, and mentoring others. Offshore/practical experience in oil and gas, ocean science, renewables and/or survey industries. Benefits: Competitive salary.
