Senior Planner Water - Yorkshire (Leeds) Location Yorkshire projects + remote work (Alternatively also option to be based from other company offices in Birmingham or Derbyshire to suit). Role: Creating accurate programmes and embedding the appropriate programme behaviours will contribute significantly to success in other areas, including cost and quality. Create, maintain, review and administer multiple integrated design and construct manufacturing programmes for projects delivered under the Yorkshire Water Framework. Work closely with and guide project teams and suppliers to ensure all activities, logic, risks, internal and external constraints etc are identified when creating programmes. Provide accurate and consistent progress information to the company and to Yorkshire Water. Analyse programmes to proactively identify time risks and opportunities. Ensure a consistent approach is applied to developing delivery programmes in line with the Yorkshire Water stage gate Process . You will initially work with the Programme Assurance Manager and other subject experts to formulate a detailed and timed Programme Delivery Plan. The plan will be regularly updated and will provide the basis for performance monitoring. Contribute to creating a positive team culture and environment to support improved programme behaviours and wellbeing and performance. This role will require determination and doggedness as you will part of a team changing for the better the way in which many people currently work embedding production line thinking and our offsite first philosophy. Duties: As a Senior Planner, you ll be responsible for: -Understanding the Project: Assimilate the project brief, associated documents and specifications and request any additional information to improve programme accuracy. -Programme Development: Work with design and construct teams to develop production methodologies, work sequences and pre-contract and contract programmes. -Collaborative Planning: Arrange and facilitate collaborative planning sessions with appropriate stakeholders throughout project development stages. Assist project teams in producing short and medium-term programmes reflecting collaborative planning outputs. -Programme Validation: Arrange and facilitate programme validation workshops to ensure programme accuracy, logic, clear critical path identification, adequate and appropriately placed time risk allowances, etc. -Progress Updates: Update project progress working directly with project teams and suppliers. This will involve virtual and actual site and pre-assembly works visits to verify progress. -Progress Reporting: Produce accurate monthly progress reports -Best Practice: Implement our internal Planning Best Practice Guide capturing and adding new best practice as it happens. -3D Model: When appropriate integrate the programme with digital model so that projects can be built virtually to increase stakeholder understanding and improve safety, logic, efficiency, accuracy, etc. -Time Risk: Identify and assess programme risks and work with project teams to produce mitigation plans. Identify alternative methodologies/sequences that reduces delivery risks. -Output Data: Monitor and capture actual output and productivity performance data and use this to continually improve project team performance programme accuracy/reliability. Line Management Responsibilities: Reports to the Programme Assurance Manager. Provides a support to the Production Team. Works closely with fully integrated design and construct project teams. Supervise graduate/apprentice planners. Requirements: To be considered for this Planner role you must meet the following criteria: -Previous planning and/or project delivery theoretical and practical experience in a manufacturing or construction environment is essential. -You must be proficient using planning software including resource management functions. -Experience using MPP Microsoft Project and Primavera P6 and linking programmes to digital models is desirable but not essential as we will work with the successful candidate to acquire these skills. -Experience applying Lean techniques and leading collaborative planning meetings desirable. -Knowledgeable in the application of technology in engineering practice and digital engineering skills. -Detail-oriented with strong analytical, problem-solving , management and organisational skills. -Some degree of knowledge of the Health and Safety Requirements within the industry to assist in the preparation of Construction Programmes. -Can work independently and as part of a diverse team. -Knowledge of Modern Methods of Construction (MMC), Lean Construction, Agile Programme Management, Production Thinking and other techniques that will assure programme and quality performance in a modern manufacturing environment. -Excellent communication and engagement skills ability to bring the whole team on the MMC journey including the client and our supply chain. -Professional qualification in a construction/manufacturing related subject is desirable. -CSCS Card desirable -SMSTS safety qualification is desirable. -Membership of a Professional body is encouraged Remuneration: -£50k - £65k basic (dependent on experience) -Car Allowance -26 days annual leave (with the opportunity to buy or sell holiday) -Private medical insurance for yourself (with the option to buy family cover) -Matched pension scheme up to 8% -Flexible and Agile working (dependent on your role) -Employee Assistance Programme -Flexible Benefits scheme which includes benefits such as cycle to work -Retail discount scheme -2 days volunteering opportunities To be considered for this vacancy or to find out more information please apply now.
