As a Shipping Supervisor, you'll guarantee that our shipping operation runs efficiently and smoothly by overseeing your team and addressing any obstacles that could delay your team's success. You'll be active on the warehouse floor, walking the aisles and docks to coach your team and proactively address areas of opportunity. You'll operate in a fast-paced, change-oriented environment, ensuring that safety and efficiency standards are not compromised.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively supervise warehouse operations including but not limited to selection, replenishment, loading, checking, shipping, and safety processes in a cold perishable and freezer warehouse environment.
  • Responsible for ensuring all outbound product (on dock and live loads in yard) is customer ready , at proper product temperature, and results are documented in WMS ensuring quality of products is never compromised
  • Ensure trucks are loaded properly and safely
  • Ensure all pallets are tagged and recorded appropriately
  • Help control the OSHA Incident Rate (OIR) and Lost Time Incident Rate (LTI) by monitoring sanitation, safe working conditions, ensuring safety policies are followed, holding pre-shift meetings and proper usage of material handling equipment
  • Monitor/audit daily for GMP, COOL procedures (Country of Origin Labeling), HAACP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) and other food safety guidelines
  • Review PreCap reports (Order Fulfillment Verification) to ensure adequate product to fill orders
  • Account for any inventory losses/product shrink
  • Review and take action based on daily and weekly APT and Utilization reports to ensure acceptable levels of performance are maintained
  • Collect/analyze data to identify opportunities for improvement and solutions
  • Understand budget requirements, and identify opportunities for cost control to include controlling wage expenses through shift scheduling and reduction of overtime
  • Participate in the hiring process to include interviews, selection, etc.
  • Responsible for department onboarding, retention and training
  • Provides performance reviews for team members
  • Provides input to manager regarding promotions and terminations
  • Creating an environment of accountability for individual and team performance through analyzing and communicating metrics
  • Crosstrain in all shipping team positions to stay current on duties, training and reaching minimum productivity levels


  • High school diploma or GED. College coursework, continuing technical education or comparable business experience preferred
  • 2 years related warehouse experience preferred
  • Supervisory experience in a warehouse environment preferred
  • Experience operating Material Handling Equipment preferred Skills & Qualifications
  • Ability to apply strong math skills that result in identification of opportunities and justify action plan recommendations
  • Ability to provide clear and constructive feedback, coaching, and counseling
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Able to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Ability to take directions using the headset selection system (such as VoCollect)
  • Ability to accommodate flexible schedules to meet the needs of the customer to include nights, weekends and holidays

Physical Demands:

  • Independently lift up to 50 lbs frequently and 100 lbs occasionally
  • Able to sit, stand, walk bend, squat on a frequent to continual basis in a refrigerated warehouse environment
  • Able to grasp, reach, push or pull (such as boxes of product, or a hand truck) on a frequent basis
  • Able to step up onto and down from equipment as required by task (such as forklift, reach truck, etc.)
  • Ability to reach above shoulder level frequently
  • Ability to build pallets up to 6 feet tall with case weights up to 50 pounds
  • Endurance for continuous, fast paced work
  • Able to adjust to fluctuating temperatures and withstand freezing temperatures as low as -20 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Ability to work in a noisy warehouse environment
  • Able to wear and communicate through headsets for long periods of time as required by location
  • Able to work while wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for the job (such as steel-toed protective footwear, harness, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, insulated clothing, etc)
  • Ability to handle and physically be near products which may contain food allergens (such as fish, shellfish, peanuts, etc.)
