Job Summary:

The Senior Professional Services Engineer will perform a range of deployment & maintenance activities required to continuously automate large, complex cloud-based computing environments in AWS, Azure, and/or GCP. The ideal candidate is passionate about new technologies, keeps current with trends in the public cloud and Infrastructure space, while always searching for ways to improve systems as technology evolves.

The role sits at the intersection between pre-sales consultants, developers, and our customers. Hands-on experience in automation, DevOps, and related technologies is key but experience in a delivery role is not. The Senior Professional Services Engineer will report to the Manager, Professional Services. This is a remote position, but the individual may be required to report to Stratascale headquarters as required for business needs, as determined by Stratascale management.

Responsibilities:

Include but not limited to:

Implement and deploy new software programs in a DevOps environment
Maintain and improve the performance of existing software programs with CI/CD methodologies and tools
Update MySQL or MariaDB databases
Test and maintain software products to ensure strong functionality and optimization
Develop and maintain a library of deployable, tested, and documented automation design scripts, processes, and procedures for cloud-based workloads
Develop and improve operational practices and procedures to existing and new systems as changes in standards evolving using a lean management approach
Provide advanced system administration (Infrastructure as Code), operational support, and problem resolution for a large complex cloud computing environments in public cloud deployments
Write and maintain documentation of relevant operating procedures and processes
Familiar with modern big data process and API based webservice architecture
Ability to work on a cross-functional team and independently
Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree or equivalent work experience
7+ years of IT infrastructure experience
3+ years of experience designing, building, and operating distributed complex software systems on AWS, Azure, or GCP
Experience with DevOps software development methods
Required Skills:
Deductive reasoning abilities
Ability to self-learn and keep up to date with Web Software Development industry, as well as evolving practices and designs of the organization
Ability to remain consistent in delivering outputs efficiently and of high quality
Excellent troubleshooting skills with ability to diagnose the problem
Ability to understand computer programming
Clearly communicate and explain projects and complex programming process with management, business, and technical support colleagues
Strong Hands-on experience with: Azure DevOps and Pipelines, Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates, Kubernetes, GitHub, GitLab
Experience scripting with PowerShell, bash
Implement automation tools and frameworks (CI/CD pipelines), utilizing the best practices in continuous integration
Relevant experience with configuration and implementation of IaaS, Infrastructure as code, CloudFormation, Azure Blueprints, etc.
Ability to code software programs for varied or specific platforms such as Shell, PowerShell, Python, Java, C++, C#, Angular JS, etc.

Preferred Skills

Experience developing with Git
Familiarity using Jenkins or other CI (Continuous Integration) software
Familiarity creating artifacts with Docker
Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
Experience with Jasim or other continuous testing tools
Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, AWS (Amazon Web Services) Linux & Ubuntu Server
Experience using Kanban
Experience using management tools such as Puppet, Chef, or Ansible
Skilled with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

Certifications Required:

Unique Requirements:
Position requires 10% for travel

Preferred Certifications:

Azure Architect Expert, AWS Solutions Architect Associate and/or GCP Cloud Architect
