Thermo Fisher Scientific in Asheville manufactures freezers for vaccine storage. Due to global demand, the Asheville site is rapidly growing and hiring for their Manufacturing and Fabrication Teams.

As an Assembler, you will play a key role in assembling parts for these freezers according to design specifications and company quality standards.

What will you do?
  • Maintain a safe work environment, a high level of safety awareness among associates, and implement 5S principles.
  • Creates press shop order packets.
  • Create and release production orders in Baan.
  • Pull prints and attach to each production order.
  • Maintains steel bay inventory and orders steel for press shop consumption.
  • Ensure inventory and transactional accuracy and lead root cause and countermeasure analysis of cycle count adjustments.
  • Engages, initiates, and suggest initiatives that support team goals and continuous improvement in process.
  • Lead focus initiatives for quality and productivity improvements.
Optimize scheduling of production activities in line with planning requirements.
  • Role Model for 4-I values
  • Ensure accuracy of production order packets, and update production BOM to align with any deviations or material substitutions.
  • Willing to flex to support the fab VS each day as needed
How will you get here?
  • Associates degree and/or 2 years of manufacturing experience preferred. Or equivalent combination of education & experience.
  • Experience with a MRP system such as Baan, SAP, Oracle, AS400, etc. preferred.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, & Outlook).
  • Preferred Qualifications: Proficient in Baan. Good organization and time-management skills. Possess the organizational skills to multi-task and set meet time frames. Familiarized with fabrication manufacturing programming software (Dr.abe)
