The Cairn Food & Beverage Host

We are looking for Food & Beverage Hosts to  work as part of a highly motivated team to ensure that customers have an enjoyable, positive, and memorable dining experience to complement and enhance their overall experience visiting our brand-new distillery, The Cairn.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Promote the Cairn Distillery and all its products.
Being an integral part of the visitor experience team, as an F&B host, you'll be required to deliver very high standards of customer service and always provide a positive and memorable visitor and dining experience.
Meet, greet and welcome all visitors in a professional courteous manner.
Welcoming customers, seating them and introducing them to the menu.
Accurately taking the customers' orders and delivering them to the customers
Prepare and present certain dishes on the menu, providing knowledge of all products on the menu and offering advice for complementary beverages.
Serve beverages both alcoholic and non-alcoholic including coffee made using an espresso machine.
Meet and maintain the highest possible standards of food hygiene in all areas. This includes but not limited to cleaning all surfaces, areas, crockery, cutlery and equipment.
Perform regular safety checks i.e., fridge temperature etc
Attending regular meetings with team members and managers to ensure up to date knowledge of the operations.
Answer queries either face to face, over the phone or by email.
Keep up to date with product knowledge, local activities and events.
Control bookings through online booking system, over the phone and in person.
Maintain appropriate stock levels and process cash and card payments through EPOS retail system.
Assist when required in our shop.
Comply with licensing laws, H&S and other statutory regulations as well as company procedures
Carry out all reasonable requests on flexible working to meet the company's mission and goals.
Assist with special projects and functions as required.
Flexibility to work across all areas of the visitor experience.
Most importantly ensuring all visitors have an enjoyable and memorable experience.

The successful candidates will have:

Knowledge or interest of the whisky industry is highly desirable.
Previous F&B experience and knowledge on whisky production would be an advantage, however full training will be provided
Experience in a Food Preparation environment would be beneficial
Experience in a customer facing role is essential
Excellent interpersonal skills
A willingness to go the extra mile to provide an excellent customer service.
The ability to work well in a team and on your own.
Experience of working in the tourism/Hospitality industry is desirable
Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills
Working knowledge of a foreign language would be beneficial.
The ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure.
Must be over the age of 18. (alcohol sales)
