Our client is a precision engineering company providing high quality vacuum products and services for customers in science and semiconductor industry. They are currently looking for a TIG Welder/Fabricator to join their team in Hailsham. Primary Purpose: To ensure all TIG Welding projects are completed in conformance with specifications and set time scales. Fabrication and welding of vacuum chambers, components and sub assemblies as required in line with planned manufacturing operations to defined quality standards and timescales. Key Responsibilities: Work closely with Lead Technician to enable welding and fabrication objectives to be completed. Complete projects in accordance with planned schedules aligning fabrication and welding workload with machine shop operations. Quality Control evaluations. Set up and running of leak checking operations using mass spectrometry equipment, (helium leak detectors) on all chamber vessels. Indicative Performance Measures: Manages personal workload, meeting all targets set Works well within the team, maintaining effective relationships with colleagues in the welding department Demonstrates a flexible attitude coping with changing priorities in a fast paced environment Understands the importance of quality, time frames and customer requirements Looks for continuous improvement in quality and time saving solutions Completes work in an effective and safe manner, following guidelines Ability to prioritise projects throughout team to achieve targets incorporating CIT (call in time/overtime) Understands and works to the 5s program Follow all health and safety regulations and seek to maintain and improve these standards Candidates must have the following skills and experience: Minimum 3 years experience in TIG welding TIG Welding (Ideally working with Mu-Metal and Stainless Steel) Established skillset in metal fabrication and welding including the use of precision measuring equipment Able to read specified drawings Comfortable working to deadlines set by lead technician Basic knowledge of turning would be an advantage Personal Qualities: Good constructive communicator Flexible and able to adapt to short term changes Supports project completion through problem solving Salary: DOE Relocation package available. 37 hour week, flexible working with a 12pm Friday finish.
